CART, which stands for Communication Access Realtime Translation, is assistive technology for the hearing impaired/late deafened to aid with communication.
A CART reporter will type out speech into text that projects onto a small screen. This can be achieved locally, (the CART reporter is on site), or remotely (the CART reporter is off site and listens in with the help of the microphone on a laptop/computer/speaker phone).
